Meet the Team

MCEC was established in 2007, as a self-owned, small environmental consultancy business covering a range of environmental aspects of projects and developments across the Eastern Cape, primarily.

Centrally situated in Elliot, in the North Eastern Cape, Sakhisizwe Local Municipality, South Africa, MCEC is able to work closely with various Clients/Developers/Municipalities/Engineers and Farmers. Moira Cloete has over 20 years of environmental consulting and project managerial experience acquired both in South Africa and the United Kingdom.

MCEC specializes in undertaking Basic Environmental Assessments, Environmental Impact Assessments, Environmental Management Plans, Environmental Audits, Environmental Awareness and Training as well as providing on site Environmental Control Services.

A large component of the business consists of advising and assisting land owners with the completion of Water Use License Applications (WULA’s) as required by the Department of Water and Sanitation.

SACNASP Registered: Pri. Sci. Nat (Environmental Science -Registration no: 116546).
International Association Impact Assessment SA (Membership no: 2175).

Moira has obtained a B.Sc, B.Sc (Hons) Degree at NMMU and is a a registered Professional Natural Scientist with more than 20 years environmental management consulting experience.

Nicole Malan is currently working as a full time sub-consultant for MCEC, based in Ugie in the Eastern Cape. Ms Malan holds a Btech in Nature Conservation and is in the process of obtaining her MSc degree in the same field. Ms Malan has lesser experience in Environmental Management but has a rich theoretical knowledge base which she will apply to relevant projects under the guidance of Ms Cloete. She has experience in compiling EIA’s, EMP’s, undertaking Environmental Auditing and providing ECO on-site services.
